Let’s go back in time this Thursday for a throwback feature to Fleetwood Town’s 3-1 win over Dagenham & Redbridge back in August 2013.
Town began their second season in the Sky Bet League Two in style, with a 3-1 comprehensive victory over Dagenham at Highbury, as two early goals gave the side the cutting edge in the tightly contested tie.
Mark Roberts scored the first League Two goal of the 2013-14 season after just five minutes, with Jeff Hughes quickly doubling the lead before even ten minutes were up.
The away side pulled one back until Ryan Cresswell put three points beyond doubt with his second-half header. All three goal scorers were players signed in the summer transfer window before the fixture, which showed promise for the campaign.
Town XI: Davies (GK), Roberts, Brown (Evans 76’), Hogan, Cresswell, Jordan, Schumacher (Murdoch 70’), Hughes, Sarcevic, Crowther, Ball (Matt 88’).
