Fleetwood Town can confirm forward Shayden Morris has joined Scottish Premiership side Aberdeen for a substantial undisclosed fee.

Morris came through the ranks in Town’s thriving academy and earned his first professional contract in July 2020 after impressing in the Under-18s – where he helped his team reach the Fourth Round of the FA Youth Cup.

The 20-year-old made his league debut in January 2021 before going on to make 40 appearances for the Cod Army, scoring two goals – with the latest being in the six-goal thriller against Wycombe Wanderers in October last year.

Fleetwood Town Chairman, Andy Pilley said: “Shayden is another proud product of our ever-growing Academy and we are delighted with the progress he’s made since joining the club as a 15-year-old.

“I’ve said before, we are building a model where the best young players join our Academy, play in our first team and are then sold to higher levels and Shayden is the latest example of this. As always, we have agreed a decent sell-on which will ensure we benefit from his future success. We all wish him well at Aberdeen."

Everyone at Fleetwood Town would like to thank Shayden for his efforts and wish him every success in the future.
