Fleetwood United, our sister club in Dubai, secured their spot in the UAE Third Division play-offs after thrashing Al Gharbia 6-0 at Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium.

It was a brilliant game for the Dubai Cods, which started with Mamadou Bamba carrying on his scoring form by opening the scoring 17 minutes into the game. A player who has just come back from injury, Cheikh Dieng, added the second before Samuel Essome Njangui netted the third five minutes later.

A minor setback in the game followed as Fred Assumpcao was sent off just before the half-time break, but that didn't stop Fleetwood from going forwards as Henry Bouda scored the fourth goal in the game three minutes into the second half.

Bouda and Dieng would go on to complete their braces in the game later on, with the Dubai Cods coming away with a convincing victory in their last game of the regular season. They will now take on Sport Support in a two-legged play-off to see who will get promoted to the UAE Second Division.

United XI: Kouassi (GK), Badji (C), Doukoure (De Souza 79'), Noumonvi, Assumpcao, Dieng, Bouda, Ebale (Militaru 68'), Njangui, Ndiaye (Kouakou 79'), Bamba (Dosso 60').
