FLEETWOOD TOWN

The Cods will be looking to build on their 3-1 win over Crewe Alexandra at the Mornflake Stadium last time out as they will be wanting to make it three games unbeaten in the league.

Harvey Macadam – on his first start for the Club since joining from Ashton United in the summer – opened the scoring from a leaping header, with substitutes Anthony Pilkington and Ellis Harrison adding further goals in the second half to secure all three points in the game.

In the game before the international break, Town hosted Doncaster Rovers for a goalless draw at Highbury. Cian Hayes’ effort that went just over the bar after a great solo run was the only real chance in the first half and, even though Town dominated the second half, they were unable to find that all-important winning goal.

LINCOLN CITY

Lincoln, who are in the same boat at Fleetwood after winning their last league match, will be looking to add another win to their tally so they can climb away from the battle at the bottom.

It was an eventful game against Charlton Athletic at the weekend as there were three goals and two red cards in their 2-1 win at The Valley. Morgan Whittaker saw red in the second half, after scoring the opener in the game, and it was an Anthony Scully strike that secured the win on the afternoon.

Before that, it was a well-contested fixture against Shrewsbury Town on the road, with was both sides struggling to create many chances. It took until the 84th minute for someone to find the back of the net and, unfortunately for The Imps, it was Daniel Udoh for The Shrews.

PRE-MATCH QUOTES: STEPHEN CRAINEY

Head Coach Stephen Crainey spoke to the press after Saturday afternoon’s 3-1 win over Crewe Alexandra at the Mornflake Stadium. Here is what he had to say in his interview:

“I thought it was a real solid performance from start to finish. We were disappointed with Crewe getting the goal just before halftime, but I thought the response in the second half was outstanding. It’s only one win, we will need to rest up now and get ready for Tuesday.

“It was a real collective [performance] today from the starting 11 and the subs that came on as well that impacted the game. It was a real collective effort that got us over the line today and I felt it was a thoroughly deserved three points as well.

“Harvey [Macadam] has been showing real good qualities in training and I trust him, that’s why I play him. I see what he gives every day, and I think his energy and legs from the midfield area is a real asset for us and is going to be moving forward.”
