Fleetwood Town are delighted to confirm the appointment of Mark Yeates as an International Coach in the club’s thriving Academy.
He has joined up with our Academy as a coach and is tasked with delivering on the international programmes at the Fleetwood Town International Academy (FTIFA) and Rossall School, alongside his role within the Under-14s.
Yeates, 36, has made over 500 professional appearances since beginning his career at Tottenham Hotspur back in 2002 as he has played for the likes of Brighton & Hove Albion, Middlesbrough, and Leicester City, and others.
Jack Higgins, Town’s Academy Manager, has said on the appointment: "We are really pleased Yeatesy has agreed to join us full-time. He initially joined us last year as an age-group coach with the Under-13s and has gone from strength to strength.
“He has such a wealth of experience, playing over 400 games in the Football League which will be invaluable for our players to learn off. Most importantly, he's such a great character. He's settled into the group of staff already and is highly thought of by everyone at the club."
Yeates said on his role within the Academy: “I'm delighted to be coming on board full-time at such a forward-thinking and well run football club. I've loved my time in and around the staff at the club so far and it gives me a great opportunity to improve & continue with my own coaching journey.”
