Midfielder Callum Camps spoke to the media after he played his part with two assists and a goal in an impressive 4-2 win over Rotherham United at the ASSEAL New York Stadium on Saturday afternoon in Sky Bet League One.

After going behind in the game to then get the scoreline back level, it was Camps’ goal which was Town’s third to get them into the lead after he found himself in the right place at the right time to slot home a rebound in what is his second goal in four games.

Here’s what he had to say:

On the result…

“We were a bit down at half-time when we was trailing 2-1, but it shows the character in the team to come out together and to score three goals in the second half, I especially thought Callum (Morton) and Ged (Garner) were fantastic out there and caused problems all day long.

“We can’t let our heads drop at all now, we have to keep it up, we’re four unbeaten now and games like that help the confidence a lot - we know we can score the goals and attack which puts us in good stead for the season.”

On the team’s determination...

“After the penalty incident I went into half-time determined to pick it up and to do something for the team and now I feel like I have done that with a goal and two assists, I scored a few goals last year and this year I want to do the same again.”

“Having the depth on the bench gives everyone a kick up the butt so it helps massively, there isn’t one lad that has come in and doesn’t get on with everyone and it helps us loads when the boys that come in and are down to earth because it helps the team a lot.”

On the club’s unity...

“There’s loads of togetherness in this team, the banter we have day in day out, it’s class and there isn’t one bad person in the changing rooms, and we are all together when we win and when we lose or draw.

“If you have a team that isn’t together as lads then it’s massive because we all know what each other’s games are about, being mates in the changing room helps massively because we know what we want and we know what we’re going to get because we all work hard for each other.

“The fans were class today; it helps a lot when we’re doing the business on the pitch- we knew they would be with us when we were down at half-time but I would like to think we have repaid them now!”
