Pilley: Fireworks an evening to be proud of

Fleetwood Town chairman Andy Pilley hailed the club’s annual Fireworks Night a huge success, adding it's something the whole town deserved.

A sold-out 2000 strong crowd lapped-up the live entertainment at Highbury Stadium, before enjoying a sensational firework display which lit up the North Fylde.

And Pilley was more than delighted to host the club’s eighth firework display.

“It’s one of my favourite events of the year, the whole community comes together,” he explained.

“The club understands just how important we are to the community of Fleetwood as a whole, not just the football supporters. We do huge amounts of work in the town with our excellent Community Trust, and events like Thursday night show just how much the wider community means to us.

“We’ve all had a very difficult 18 months with the pandemic and to see literally thousands of people from Fleetwood and the Fylde enjoying themselves is something which makes it all worthwhile. We are proud we can add some cheer back to our wonderful local area.

“The whole town should be proud of the event, I can’t wait until next year!"

On a perfect evening of family fun the masses lapped up entertainment from headline act The Deadbeats, as well as support duo Father and Son Karaoke. While former X Factor star Stacey McClean performed to a packed hospitality lounge.

Hosted by Wayne Bibby and sponsored by West Lancashire Group, the best was yet to come as the evening ended with an incredible 20 minute firework display.
