New signing Brad Halliday sat down with the club on Friday afternoon and talked about his move to Fleetwood Town and why he chose the club.
The 25-year-old – who has signed a two-year-deal with the Cod Army - is experienced at League One level having spent the last two seasons at Doncaster, making 70 appearances in that time, and spent a season at Accrington Stanley on loan from his first club, Middlesbrough.
Here’s what Brad had to say:
On the move to Fleetwood…
“I’m delighted to get it done, it’s been a while since the season ended so to finally get over to Fleetwood, I’m happy to get going and hopefully kick-on next season.
“There’s been a lot of interest since the end of last season, and we spoke to Simon [Grayson] and the rest of the team and to get the contract sorted is great.
“I’ve played a lot of games now at both League One and League Two level so I’m going into next season like any other. I’m an attacking full-back and I want to start adding goals and assists to my game in the upcoming season.”
On the facilities at the club…
“We originally came over and had a look at the facilities and whilst over here, had face to face conversations with the manager and some of the staff, and I knew that I wanted to be here after those conversations.
“The facilities are lovely; they remind me of home. I’m originally from Redcar, a little town on the coast up in the North East so it’s like being back at home really. I’m looking forward to moving over and spending a lot of time over here.
On passing on his experiences so far…
“I remember starting out as a young lad, going out on loan to clubs and getting experience, so the young lads in the squad and whoever else comes in, I will be there to help them and give them a bit of advice and guidance and I want to help get the best out of them.
“In the changing room, with the Academy lads coming through and breaking into the team, I will try and help them as I do think I’ve got a lot of experience that I am able to pass on to them.”
