Commercial Executive, Sam Heaney provides an update on a number of topics relating to his department at Fleetwood Town.

Memorial fixture
We began the year with an unusual, but still very touching, memorial fixture, which was kindly sponsored by club partners JT Byrne Funeral Directors. This fixture highlights and tributes all of the fans, staff and members of the local community who sadly passed away in the last year, and this year was no different. A minute’s silence was observed, with names displayed on the big screen as our Memorial Partner laid a wreath in the Memorial Stand – a beautiful fitting.
John Byrne, Director at JT Byrne, told us: “The memorial fixture at Fleetwood Town is always a game close to our hearts. The heartfelt gesture from the club to dedicate the first home game of the new year for the fans and supporters of the club who have passed away is always appreciated by the football community of Fleetwood.”

Player sponsorships
A way to help out the club, whether you are a local business or a devoted member of the Cod Army, would be player sponsorship. We would like to thank everyone who has already sponsored a player this season, as your support is very much welcomed and appreciated by the player and the club as a whole.
We only have a few players left to sponsor this season so you will need to act quick to get the player you want. Barrie McKay, Nathan Sheron, Harrison Biggins, Barry Baggley and Ryan Rydel all remain available for sponsorship, with our prices at £200 per player. Virtual match sponsorship
As we are still stuck in a global pandemic, we are having to think of new ways to incorporate our sponsors, and businesses as a whole, into our match days. Due to stadium being crucial personnel only on match days, sponsors will have to watch the game remotely, but will still receive the social media presence that they would if they were at the game.
We would like to thank both JT Byrne Funeral Directors and UtiliSearch for virtually sponsoring home games against Portsmouth and Northampton Town retrospectively.
Digital advertising has become vitally important to companies with the current restrictions in place. With this in mind, we have decided to offer ‘Virtual Match Sponsorship’ experiences. The club will do its upmost to boost your brand and push things to your requirements using our huge viewing figures via the website and on the social channels.
Advertising on Fleetwood Town’s social media accounts on matchday is a great way to but your business or brand in the eyes of over 140,000 followers across the major channels. Utilise this audience by getting in touch about advertising whether it’s a virtual matchday package or for the remainder of the 2020/21 season!

Business Club
Fleetwood Town’s Business Club was launched in March 2013 and as a group, we regularly refer over £1.5 million of business to each other every year, providing a platform for local businesses to promote their businesses. Get in touch on how to register your interest, a great way to network and encourage innovate for your business! Annual membership is £300+VAT per member per annum.
The club are hosting regular meetings through Zoom as, due to the current guidelines, we are not allowed to meet in person. These meetings help businesses discuss what they are doing at that given time and will see whether they could attribute some of their products to other companies in the area. This is always a light-hearted chat between everyone there and ends up with laughing ang joking come every meeting!
