Fleetwood Town’s Community Trust held a special Christmas ball at Highbury Stadium for local veterans recently to help spread the festive cheer!
Music was playing as the guests arrived and were greeted by Community Trust staff, including our very own veteran Rick Clement, which soon followed by some singing, some magic, and even some karaoke that was enjoyed by all.
Like most veterans’ meetings, stories from their individual times in the Armed Forces were shared to the group with comedic tales on camaraderie and even notes on warfare they have either witnessed or have been a part of.
The veterans also sat round their tables and were treated to a three-course meal in the Parkside Suite, provided by the Trust. A raffle was conducted at the same time, with signed shirts from Joe Garner and Anthony Pilkington there to be won by all who attended, and it raised £600 on the night!
It was a brilliant night for all and one that we hope will be replicated once again in the future.
