Defender Darnell Johnson has been named in this week’s Sky Bet League One ‘Team of the Week’ after his performance against Cheltenham Town.
Johnson - who joined The Cods in the summer on a two-year deal - made his debut for the club on Saturday and was crucial in the side's comeback victory over The Robins at Highbury, scoring the second goal on the day.
Even though the defender was playing slightly out of his comfort zone at full-back, his efforts were applauded by the Cod Army in the stands, and the EFL as he has been placed at full-back in their Team of the Week.
This is the second time a Fleetwood Town player has featured in the League One TOTW this season, as Danny Andrew was placed at left-back for his performance and 30-yard free-kick opener against Lincoln City.
