First-team players Danny Andrew and Shayden Morris surprised all the children on our Community Trust’s sports camp at Poolfoot Farm on Thursday afternoon.
Straight after their training session, ahead of this weekend’s trip down south to face Plymouth Argyle, the two players headed over the 5-a-side pitches where the sports camp was being held and the children had a surprise when they both turned up.
During the football session, Andrew and Morris walked onto the pitch and took part in a Q&A session before posing for pictures and signing autographs for those who attended the camps.
The Community Trust have been doing a brilliant job re-engaging with the local population after a troubling year and a half and these sports camps have been one of the bigger initiatives for the kids on the Fylde Coast.
Mike Tallentire, School Sport Activator for the Community Trust, said: "It was great for Danny and Shayden to come and see the children at the Soccer Camp today.
“The children were really excited to see them both and as a Community Trust we are really excited to continue the collaboration with the football club and the local community moving forward.
“It’s been hard throughout the pandemic, with everyone being apart, but with the players coming down and engaging with the children on our camp is a great sight to see – let’s hope for more in the future.”
