Midfielder Jordan Rossiter spoke to the media at Poolfoot Farm on Thursday afternoon ahead of Fleetwood Town's Sky Bet League One clash against Peterborough United.
Rossiter – who recently signed a new contract with the club, keeping him at the club until the summer of 2023 – is looking forward to getting back on the Highbury turf as the Peterborough league clash draws closer.
Here’s what he had to say:
On signing a new deal…
“I’m delighted to get the deal over the line, the club came to me with an offer and I just wanted to get it signed. I’ve really enjoyed my time over the two years here.
“The club stood by me, they have been absolutely superb to me, the moment I first got my knee injury they stuck by me until my comeback against Sunderland in the EFL Trophy.
“The people in and around the club were absolutely superb, from top to bottom. I’m just buzzing to be playing after a tough time but that’s all behind me now, I’m looking to kick on.”
On the team's recent form and tomorrow's game…
“We’ve picked up results lately which has been really good. Obviously, a bit disappointing last time out against Swindon but the gaffer today reiterated let's just get back on track, nine games to go, let's get as many wins as possible and see where it takes us.
“With League One football, you don’t get any easy games. Every week’s tough, as you can see from our last few results, we go beat the likes of Lincoln but then like Swindon towards the bottom last time out they came here and done a job on us.
“The gaffer reiterates I think he’s had obvious promotions out of this league he’s constantly on to us, you’re not going to get any easy games. We’re just ready and prepared, let's just see where it takes us tomorrow.”
