Get your scarecrows in Highbury for the play-offs!

We cannot have the Cod Army behind us at Highbury for Fleetwood Town’s Sky Bet League One play-off semi-final first leg against Wycombe Wanderers, but there’s another way you can be part of the action!

Ahead of Joey Barton’s side facing The Chairboys, the club are giving supporters the chance to design their own scarecrows to place in the ground for the match on Friday 3 July (7:30pm kick-off).

There has been a number of teams placing cardboard cut-outs inside stadiums across Europe, but the club have thought at adapting that idea in line with the town’s annual scarecrow festival.

Fleetwood Town Chairman Andy Pilley added: “We know at this time our loyal and passionate supporters cannot be with us inside Highbury due to the ongoing pandemic.

“However, our supporters and the town of Fleetwood will know all about this tradition. It seems apt that we can link the festival to this unique way of backing the lads. We want all our fans and people in the town to create their own scarecrow, the Cod Army can show their support for Joey and the team in our important first leg at Highbury.

“For the team to achieve success on the pitch, it is a real team effort, and we want to see the people of our supporters and their families really get behind the team!”

The club are asking supporters to bring their scarecrows to the Highbury Stadium main reception from the week commencing Monday 29 June. For those who can’t drop off at the ground, then local collection can be arranged. Please email info@fleetwoodtownfc.com for further details.

Please leave your name and contact details with your scarecrow, with the best entries winning special Fleetwood Town prizes!
