Fleetwood Town Wrens fell to a 2-1 away defeat in the Argyle Cup against Mossley Hill on Sunday afternoon, with the reserves also losing out in their fixture.

It was a close game between the two sides, with Carmel Daniel scoring the only goal for the Wrens in their defeat at Mossley Hill. The tie was well fought, but there had to be one winner on the day.

A player of the match performance from Lauren Oatley was one of the positives for Fleetwood.

Meanwhile, the Wrens’ Reserves side fell to a defeat against Haslingden Girls at the Fearns Community Sports College in a league fixture.

Emily Crook got the goal for Fleetwood, while Caroline Wilcock stood out with a player of the match performance.

The first team are back in action next weekend when they travel to Manchester Stringers. The fixture will take place on Sunday 26 January (2pm kick-off) at Whaley Range AFC, Manchester, M21 0XX.

The reserves are also in action on that day as they host North Lancs and District Development Centre on at School Road (2pm kick-off).
