Head coach Joey Barton spoke to the press ahead of his side's Sky Bet League One clash against Swindon Town on Saturday.

Barton joined the press for a virtual conference on Friday morning and previewed Town's first trip down to County Ground since December 2016 as well as looking at the busy schedule facing the side in the next few weeks.

Here's what the Gaffer had to say:

On Saturday’s opposition…

“It’s a chance for us to get back to winning ways. We’re three points outside the play-offs and we need to make sure we maintain contact with the promotion-chasing pack because, as we found out last year, you’ve got to be there or thereabouts come January-February,

“I’m not going to try and second guess them, we are going to do what we’re going to do and if we do that, we are a force for anyone in the division. We need to focus on us and, not disrespect to Swindon, if we get it right, we are a match for everybody.

“It’s a tough and relentless campaign is League One, there will be ups and downs with spells of great football and spells of results that you have to grind out, but we think that Swindon are a tough proposition at their stadium but again, if we get things right, we can cause anyone in this division problems.”

On Camps’ Player of the Month award…

“Personal accolades are always nice for any member of our team. It’s a great tip of the cap to the team because it’s always about the players you play with and I think Campsy has been exceptional.

“Some of the goals he has scored have been real match-winning moments and when you look at the impact, he has had in such a short space of time, I think this outside recognition will only help his confidence and boost his goal return for us.

“I’m really pleased for him, but it doesn’t get us any extra points in the league table, and I reckon if you offered Cal an extra point or two for the trophy, I think he would give it back so we can have more points on the board. It’s a credit to the hard work he’s put in since he’s been here and he’s starting to see the rewards now so I’m nothing but happy for him.”
