Fleetwood Town duo Wes Burns and Ashley Hunter have been nominated for awards at the 2019 North West Football Awards, which will be held at Lancashire Cricket Club.
Burns - who made 44 appearances for Joey Barton's side in all competitions last season - has been nominated for the League One Footballer of the Year. The Welshman scored eight goals, including one against local rivals Blackpool at Highbury in November.
The forward is up against Blackpool defender Curtis Tilt, Accrington Stanley's Sean McConville and Rochdale forward Ian Henderson.
Hunter played 47 times for Fleetwood last season; scoring nine goals in all competitions. He will be up for the 'Rising Star' award which will feature young Liverpool and England full-back Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Manchester United forward, Mason Greenwood.
The winners are decided by a public vote, which will be announced at the awards' ceremony at Lancashire Cricket stadium, Emirates Old Trafford on Monday 11th November. Votes can be made HERE - let's get behind the lads!
