Fleetwood Town Wrens Ladies had a successful weekend at both Poolfoot Farm and School Road as both the First Team and Reserves came away with wins over Mossley Hill and Sir Tom Finney Development squad respectively.

Dave Butler’s first team – who went into the game on the back of a narrow 2-1 loss to Morecambe Ladies First – came away with a 4-1 win over Mossley Hill at Poolfoot Farm on Sunday.

Lauren Oatley carried on her recent form as she managed to score a hat-trick and receive the Player of the Match award on the day. Beth Gregory also got on the score sheet over the weekend, as the first team rose up the North West Women’s Regional League table.

The reserves also celebrated a good result over the weekend as they managed to beat Sir Tom Finney FC Development Squad 2-1 at School Road in the Lancashire League Cup.

Amy Bennett converted a penalty early in the second half – after Jodie Hazelhurst was brought down – to give Fleetwood the lead before Kirsten Harris pressured the goalkeeper the punch the ball into her own net from a corner.

Shannon Frankle was awarded Player of the Match for the second game running as she dominated the midfield.

The first team are back in action on Sunday 17 November as they are set to face Bolton Wanderers in the last eight of the Lancashire Cup, which kicks off at 2pm.

The Reserves are also set to play on Sunday, as they host St Annes Ladies at School Road at 2pm.
