Fleetwood Town Community Trust, alongside partners Wyre & Fylde School Sorts hosted the annual EFL Kids Cup football tournament at Poolfoot Farm.

On Friday morning, 30 teams entered the competition from a number of primary schools across the Fylde Coast to earn the right to represent Fleetwood Town Community Trust at the Regional Finals in Accrington.

The day saw over 350 pupils, boys and girls from Year 5 and 6 take part, with Lytham Hall Park looking to regain their title for the second year running. The school had a tough task, but in the end managed to succeed and take home the trophy.

After the group stages and a number of close knockout matches, Lytham Hall Park took on Poulton St. Chads in the final and with it being goalless after the two halves, it was down to penalties – which saw Lytham crowned winners.

In the Plate Final, Flakefleet Primary School – Britain’s Got Talent finalists – beat Carleton Green to take home the silverware, added to what has been an unbelievable year for the school inside and outside of the school grounds.

The Trust would like to thank all the schools that attended, as well as all the parents who took time away from work to show their support at Poolfoot Farm.

Good luck to Lytham Hall Park in the next round of the EFL Kids Cup. If they are successful in the Regionals, they will play in the final at Wembley prior to the Sky Bet League One Play-Off Final.
