Midfielder Josh Morris spoke to the club whilst on the pre-season training camp in Portugal.

Town travelled to Vilamoura on Sunday and have been hard at work ever since, doing double sessions both in the gym and on the grass.

Morris – who re-joined the club in June – admits that the sessions are hard work, from start to finish, but thinks the squad have done well so far on the tour.

In an interview on Tuesday morning, the 27-year-old said this:

On the training in Portugal…

“It’s been tough but it's been a good first couple of days which set us in good stead for the rest of the week. It’s a bit hotter than back at home but it’s been nice to get some work done and a lot of football involved – which is always good.

“We did a 11v11 match today which helped get the legs moving and get some minutes under your belt during the training scenarios. I think all of the lads know that in training, it’s going to be full on, and there’s no coming off it – it’s going to be a tough week, but the lads have adapted well to it so far.”

On the squad…

“They’re a good set of lads and they’ve been great. It helps to be with them 24/7 – like you are when you are away – it’s good to be involved. It’s the perfect time to get to know them when you are with them all the time and it’s nice to meet them all. All the lads are friendly and are mixing together well.”

On his fitness levels…

“I’m feeling good, it’s good to finally get going. We got back into pre-season training a few weeks ago now, and it’s good to get back into the swing of things. We need to work hard this week because the games will be coming thick and fast.
