Now you’ve got your GCSE results, have you considered what you want to do next? If you’re interested in sport, coaching and enhancing your employability skills, then Fleetwood Town Community Sports College is the place for you.

The education programme at Fleetwood Town Community Trust is an exciting opportunity for those aged 16-19 to continue their education, and develop their career through playing football and Futsal, representing Fleetwood Town Football Club.

Based at Poolfoot Farm, the two-year BTEC course provides the opportunity for students to obtain their Level Two and Level Three BTEC in Sport, as well as an FA Level 1 award in coaching for both football and Futsal.

As well as completing full-time education and coaching programmes, students are given the opportunity to play in the EFL's CEFA Football League against other clubs such as Blackpool, Preston and Manchester City. In addition, there are also international and national trips and tours throughout two years, including a 2-week trip to Spain in September this year.

Tutors provide a unique and high-quality experience, and 75% of students who have completed the programme go on to attend university.

BTEC Tutor Joey Newson said: "It is a really exciting time to be part of the Fleetwood Town Community College as we are constantly expanding and growing.

"The use of the club's £10m, state-of-the-art training facility provides the perfect environment for students who are wanting to progress in sport. Our work experience opportunities provide students with a great platform to learn all there is to know about the working world of professional sport, and many of our students gain employment as a result of these placements."

He added: “The academic success of our students, along with high levels of achievement in both football and Futsal, have been recognised nationally with students successfully gaining offers to study at some of the best universities in the country.

“As a result of this success, we are in the process of setting up a foundation degree for our students to continue with their education on completion of their course, providing a further platform for them to succeed and achieve."

We wish all pupils all the best on GCSE Results Day! For more information about the programme or to sign up, just click here.
