FTFC eSports finish off a consistent season in Virtual Pro Gaming after finishing 12th in the Premier League and extended cup runs in the Champions League and eSports Cup.

The side – lead by Jonny ‘xj101’ Peniket – started out the season strong with a five-win streak, making a name for ourselves straight away in the top tier. 11 goals shared between John ‘JCC’ Charles, JL11x, Ryan_22x and xj101 in those five games helped set our stall out for the season.

Town’s run in the Champions League was more than we could have asked for in the first season as we went through the group stages unbeaten – winning four game and drawing two against some of the best eSports teams in the world.

Unfortunately, we were knocked out in the round of 32 after two close games against Xeno eSports but we will be back again next season – hoping to get at least one step further.

The side also impressed in the eSports Cup. We bypassed the first round after a 3-0 default win over Wolfpack FIFA before a dominant performance over Toulouse Esport Club in our 120th official Virtual Pro Gaming fixture. Goals from JCC, Frankie_Arsenal and JayDFC placed Town up against ICG Horus in the third round – which was won on penalties by Fleetwood.

A win in the next round over ESG Sabrewolves earned Town a place in the Round of 32 but this is where the journey ended. A 1-0 loss to Champions League winners Be Amazed FIFA ended the streak which will be picked up next season.

Town reached a few milestones throughout the season as JL11x scored the 300th goal for the club in a 5-1 win over Sinai Villagers back in February before JCC and JL11x, yet again, capped off a brilliant Champions League debut for Town, with a 2-0 win over Czech side Warriors VPG.

JCC continued his consistent form, which we have seen since the beginning of the club, as he reached 10 Premier League goals, after scoring the opening goal in a 2-0 win over Aerox eSports in March. Our 150th game in VPG saw the side keep a clean sheet in our round of 32 Champions League fixture against Xeno eSports which was a great milestone for the club.

Now stable in the best league on the website, Town will look to press on next season and look towards the play-off spots when the league starts back up in May 2019.

We would like to thank all the players who represented the club during the season and would like to wish them all the best for the next one - If you are interested in representing FTFC eSports, click HERE for more details.
