Fleetwood Town are delighted to announce that Alex Cairns has been named the club’s PFA Community Champion for the 2018/19 season.
Alex has been presented the award by Fleetwood Town’s Community Trust following his outstanding work within the local community over the season.
Town’s number one has played a leading role in community visits within schools, as well as going the extra mile with younger supporters who have visited him at the club’s training ground.
Matt Hilton, Chief Executive of Fleetwood Town’s Community Trust, said: “Alex is an inspiration to all members of the community that come into contact with him.
“He always goes the extra mile, carrying out his community duties with care, diligence and passion. In particular his dedication to promoting inclusion and health programmes have touched the lives of many young people in the local area.”
Alex will be formally presented with the award at the Fans’ Awards Night in Jim’s Bar this Saturday, following the Bristol Rovers match.
