Team news: Sunderland (A)

8 September 2018

Joey Barton has named his side for the match against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light in Sky Bet League One.

With Fleetwood Town unbeaten on the road in the league so far this season, the Cod Army head to Sunderland full of confidence, looking to take all three points back across to the North West of England.

Town make one change from the starting line-up that featured in the 2-1 victory at home to Bradford City with Wes Burns missing out due to suspension, and Conor McAleny coming in with the straight swap.

Kyle Dempsey and Chris Long remain on the bench for Barton’s side and will be ready if called upon by the gaffer.

Town XI: Cairns (GK), Coyle, Holt, Eastham, Evans, McAleny, Madden, Morgan ©, Hunter, Marney, Husband.

Subs not used: P. Jones (GK), Spurr, Dempsey, Long, Biggins, Sheron, Wallace.

Sunderland XI: McLaughlin (GK), Matthews, Loovens, Cattermole. Maguire, McGeouch, Honeyman ©, Gooch, Baldwin, Maja, Hume.
