Fleetwood Town can confirm that Tommy Spurr has joined the club on loan from Preston North End.
The defender, who has played for Sheffield Wednesday, Blackburn Rovers and Doncaster, has signed for Town on a season-long loan deal and will meet his new teammates at Poolfoot Farm on Thursday morning.
The 30-year old becomes the club's fifth signing of the summer, and Spurr feels he can give the team that something different when he is out on the pitch.
After speaking on his move, he said: "I can't wait to get going and come here to play games and be part of something special.
"I hope I can bring experience into this team and help the young players at the club as much as I can.
"But for me first and foremost, I want to get back into training and get back into the swing of things."
