Uwe Rosler has given his thoughts after Fleetwood Town’s 2-1 defeat at home to Shrewsbury Town.
His thoughts on the game…
“It’s the same old story with my players showing great spirit to come back into the game against a class team.
“We changed the shape and that worked for us and stood in the game but that first goal was unnecessary but that’s us at the moment.
“As said before, we showed great spirit to come back into the game and made another error and that cost us.”
On Shrewsbury’s opener in first-half injury time…
“We should have gone 1-0 up just before their goal but that would have been against the run of play.”
“They had three chances with two of those were self-inflicted and I thought they were the better team.
“My players stood firm and we had a big chance just 30 seconds before they scored, and we should have done much better on the cross and put our bodies on the line."
On the team’s performance in the second half…
“I think we came back into the game but then needed to realise to then stay in the game again.
“Shrewsbury then had more emphasises on attacking again and we need to work on that deep-lying midfield with four strikers on the pitch.
“They gathered momentum without really hurting us, but we didn’t want to play balls into the middle as we knew they were strong in that area, and when we did that, they countered us.
“Sometimes it’s difficult to take when players are giving me everything.
"They are trying so hard and like I said last time and it’s another mistake and it has been punished.”
On turning it around…
“There’s no other solution but to turn it around.
“We can’t go and buy more players or loan more players like we could before and that option is out of the window.
“It’s important we now we work on turning it around.”
