Ched Evans says he is loving playing alongside Paddy Madden in attack for Fleetwood Town.

The on-loan Sheffield United striker – who has seven goals in the league after his strike against Coventry City last time out – has struck up an impressive partnership with the Irishman.

Evans will be looking to build on his goal tally when the Cod Army travel to face Luton Town on Saturday.

See below key quotes from Ched’s pre-match press conference…

On playing alongside Paddy Madden…

“I think me and Paddy play really well together. He works really hard off and I am more of a focal point for the team by holding the ball up and bringing players into the game. We both create chances for each other with the way we play, which obviously helps the team.

“I would be more worried if my current performances haven’t given me chances to score, but I feel like I’ve been playing well for the team. I’ve not been getting too down about not getting goals, because if I don’t score, I feel like Paddy will and vice versa.

“I enjoy playing with two upfront and getting the goals between us.”

On the mood within the camp after back-to-back victories…

“Obviously the mood is really good at the moment. We’ve had a couple of good wins and we go into the weekend really positive after grinding out the win on Monday night. Everyone was there looking for a cup upset, but we weren’t really out of comfort zone and we got the job done which we needed to do.”

On getting back amongst the goals in the league…

“It was a relief to score [against Coventry last Tuesday]. I felt I had been a little unlucky having shots off the crossbar, cleared off the line and blocked, but we spoke in the week about playing in the centre of the pitch and that worked as I got my goal.”

On facing Luton on Saturday…

“If you look at the games we’ve lost away from home, we’ve walked away being disappointed because we know we could have given that extra little bit. I think that Luton have a good home record, but in the first bit of the season we had a great away record and we’re keen to get back to that level.

“We shouldn’t have an issue in getting a result, because we know that we have goals within our team and our defence is improving and keeping clean sheets in recent weeks.”
