Carl Boyeson will be the man in the middle for Fleetwood’s trip to Rotherham this Saturday.

The Englishman has taken charge of 31 games this season, with 17 of those coming in League One. In those games, he has shown 84 yellow cards, as well as 10 red cards.

The Cod Army can share some good memories with Boyeson as he refereed Fleetwood’s 1-0 win over York City in the second leg of the League Two Playoff semi-final in 2014. Matty Blair’s second half winner sent Town to Wembley, where they defeated Burton Albion to earn promotion to League One for the first time.

Boyeson has actually refereed a game between these sides before in April 2013, which ended in a 2-1 win for Rotherham. David Ball, who left for the Millers in the summer, scored Fleetwood’s goal that day.

Peter Gooch and Nigel Smith will be Boyeson’s assistants for the game, with Ian Smedley acting as fourth official.
