Loan watch: EFL debut for Osborne and another win for Reid and Wright

3 September 2017

A number of Fleetwood Town players were in action for their respective loan clubs over the weekend, let’s see how they got on…

Elliot Osborne made his football league debut on Saturday for Morecambe, coming on a second half substitute in their 2-1 home defeat to Accrington Stanley.

Young duo Alex Reid and Akil Wright both played 90 minutes as Wrexham extended their unbeaten run to three games in the National League with a 2-0 win over Bromley. The Red Dragons have now moved up to third in the table.

Elsewhere in the National League, Dion Charles played the full game in FC Halifax Town’s 2-1 win over his former side AFC Fylde. The Shaymen are now four games unbeaten and up to eighth in their first season back in the fifth tier.

Nick Haughton made his Chorley debut after a deadline day loan move to The Magpies, and was instrumental in their 2-0 home win over York City. Goalkeeper Matty Urwin kept another clean sheet as Matt Jansen’s side won their first game at Victory Park this season.
