Club legend extends stay with Fleetwood
Fleetwood Town are delighted to announce club captain Nathan Pond has signed a one-year contract extension, with an option for a further year.
Pond – who has made a record 453 appearances for Town – had six months to run on his current contract, meaning this deal keeps him at Highbury until at least the end of the 2018 season.
Town’s skipper is currently a Guinness World Record holder having played for the same team in seven different divisions – starting from the North West Counties League First Division to Sky Bet League One.
Nathan’s Fleetwood Town journey started in March 2003 as an 18-year old under then manager Tony Greenwood, and has seen him rise to the third tier of English football.
Pond signs the deal on his 32nd birthday - many happy returns Nathan!
