Uwe Rosler says his players showed courage after a solid 2-0 win over Hereford in the Emirates FA Cup second round replay.

Cian Bolger scored two goals either side of half-time, to line up a tie against former Premier League champions Leicester City.

Rosler spoke proudly of his team’s performance on the night and believed his side showed a lot of character in front of a hostile atmosphere.

“I think it was a really important game,” said Rosler.

“In cup competitions we’ve done really well and are now in the third round. It was a big game for us when you look at the situation we are in,

“We played against 5,500 people and I thought our midfielder handled the pressure well. They showed courage today and they competed from start to finish.”

“My players needed to be at our best tonight, and I think tonight we gave a rock solid performance.”

Given the four division difference between the sides, and with The Bulls playing at home, an upset could have happened – with Rosler highlighting the mentality of his side.

“Everybody was waiting for us to slip up and my players performed under tough circumstances.

“The three in the midfielder pleased me, the back five were very good, and I thought in the second half we had a few really good counter attacks to kill the game off.

“In the end, we cleared our box; we cleared out lines really good and defended well.

“We can’t look at Leicester now. My focus is on Peterborough this Sunday and it’s important that we do everything right from now until the match.

“It’s important we go into the game with momentum.”

It’s been a long-time waiting for Bolger to get back on the scoresheet, with his boss highlighting the defenders impact in the tie.

“We have been waiting for Cian to score for a while!

“Last season he scored six goals from set pieces, and teams worked us out after those but I have to credit my assistant Rob Kelly.

“He has spent a lot of time on the" set piece with the team; focusing on the delivery and also the movement in and around the box.

“Today we did it well and that was the result."
