Midfielder set to face former side

Bobby Grant says that friendships will be put to one side as he prepares to face old club Rochdale on Saturday.

The midfielder spent eight months at Crown Oil Arena in two separate spells before joining Blackpool in 2013 and says that he is fully focused on getting three points for the Cod Army.

“Rochdale is in the past and I wish them all the best, but on Saturday I won’t be having any friends on or off the pitch,” said Grant.

“It’s a good club which was good for me, and I played well for their fans but I’ll be going there to get three points for Fleetwood.”

Grant played under current ‘Dale boss Keith Hill and the 26 year-old is expected a tough game from Hill’s side, despite them being at the foot of the Sky Bet League One table.

“Any away game in this division is tough.

“Keith Hill is a very good, experienced manager at this level and he has a hard working team. I know if we play to the levels that we’ve shown this season then we’ll get a very positive result.”

“We’ve had a very good start to the season but we’re keeping our feet on the ground. The manager is new and we’re still getting into the way he wants us to play.

“We understand there will be ups and downs in the season, but if we keep working hard and doing what the manager wants then we’ll be fine.”
