Full details on new partnership between Community Trust and Health Edco UK...

Health Edco UK have just signed an exciting £4,000 sponsorship deal with Fleetwood Town FC Community Trust to promote healthy lifestyles across their programmes.

Paul Wright, International Director for Health Edco says: “This isn’t something we would normally do, but believe it’s a fantastic opportunity to work in partnership with Fleetwood Town Community Trust on Health and Education Programmes in Wyre.”

Health Edco are now the Official Health Education Partner and join fellow partners Miller Roskell Accountants, Thornton who are the Official Kit Sponsor and the Regenda Group, Fleetwood who are the Official Inclusion Partner for the Community Trust.

The sponsorship will provide the Trust with £2,000 to develop their educational programmes and £2,000 of Health Edco resources to bring health education to life. Some of the resources include games and interactive displays on nutrition, healthy eating, food portions, energy drinks, fats, muscles and sugars, alcohol, tobacco, drugs, obesity and diabetes, emotional and behavioural health, heart health, hygiene and oral health, men’s and women’s health and sex education.

Joining Health Edco and Fleetwood Community Trust staff at the launch were Dr Mark Spencer and Karen Boylan who are key figures in the Healthier Fleetwood Initiative.

Cat Smith, MP for Lancaster and Fleetwood, says: “This partnership will provide excellent resources and funding for much needed health education in Wyre and is a real bonus in supporting the Healthy Fleetwood Initiative. I look forward to seeing the positive impact.”

Fleetwood Town Community Trust works with over 3,500 children, young people and adults, providing physical activity, emotional health and wellbeing and education programmes.

Pupils from Thornton Primary School attended the launch with their Head Teacher, Rachel Clements and enjoyed trying out all the resources and discovering lots of new things about health.
