Fleetwood Town are thrilled that their efforts to offer fans football at an affordable and fair level has been acknowledged in the BBC’s 2016-17 Price of Football study.

On Wednesday evening, the BBC released their findings into how much it costs supporters in the UK to follow their clubs. 223 league and non-league teams across the UK took part in the survey and Fleetwood Town come out very favourably in the overall results.

The study showed that the Cod Army offer amongst the best value of all of the Sky Bet League One clubs in practically all of the different categories, ranging from season ticket prices to the cost of a match day programme.

Town’s cheapest season ticket, priced at £210, is the third most economical in the league and 26% below the divisional average, whilst our most expensive season ticket, costing £260, is of its kind the very lowest in the third tier of English football.

Based on last season’s findings Town also prove incredible value in terms of how much a supporter pays per home goal. It cost just £6.35 to see every goal the Cod Army scored at Highbury in 2015-16 with only Bradford City, Coventry City and Bristol Rovers charging less to see their team find the back of the net, with the Gas undercutting Town by just a penny per goal!

Supporters who enjoy indulging in the whole match day experience by purchasing a pie, programme and cup of tea will also be delighted to hear that Fleetwood retail all of these three components at less than the going rate in Sky Bet League One. The three items combined at Highbury would set you back just £5.50 with the rest of the division averaging over £8.00 between them.

The price of a programme at Fleetwood proves particularly incredible value at just £1.00 whilst every other club in the league charges £3.00 for their match day publication.

Fleetwood’s replica match day shirts also retail at a price lower than the divisional average in both Adult (£40) and Children’s (£30) sizes.

The BBC also acknowledged Town’s offer that all under-16s receive free entry to home games if they pay a £20 membership fee.

Fleetwood are proud to be seen as offering good value for money at Highbury and have an upcoming offer for fans planning on attending the upcoming home games against Chesterfield and Shrewsbury Town.
