The girls picked up a memorable win against Preston North End
Fleetwood Town Juniors Anchors Under 12 girls team recently took part in the Bispham Juniors Football Federation tournament.The girls competed well and recorded a memorable 1-0 win against Preston North End, who later went on to win the competition.
It was the team’s first experience of tournament football after their formation in February of this year, and they narrowly missed out on progressing from the knockout rounds.
Coach Chris Morton said: “I was incredibly proud of the girls in their first tournament experience.
“They have come a long way in terms of progression since they were formed and they competed extremely well.
“This is a bunch of girls who have the best team spirit of any grassroots team that I know of.”
