Town's final pre-season friendly is against Gary Caldwell's Latics

Championship side Wigan Athletic will visit Highbury Stadium tonight for a pre-season friendly under the floodlights, kick off 7:45pm.

Barry Nicholson will once again take caretaker charge of Fleetwood for the game against the side which won the League One title last season.

It’s the Cod Army’s final pre-season game as they look to end their preparations on a high after Tuesday’s 3-1 win at Southport.

Ahead of tonight’s game, Fleetwood will be able to call upon a full-strength side, with almost every first-team player available for selection.

Nicholson is likely to go with a stronger side that defeated Southport, as preparations continue for the upcoming EFL League One season, only Jimmy Ryan and Amari’i Bell look set to miss out with slight knocks.

Wigan will be without defender Stephen Warnock, while Jake Buxton could make his second appearance for his new employers, having signed from Derby County earlier this week.

Goalkeeper Adam Bogdan, who recently signed a season-long deal from Liverpool, and fellow new recruits, Dan Burn, Alex Gilbey and Nick Powell could all feature against Town.

The match will be officiated by referee Andy Madley, along with James Mainwaring and Barry Cropp who will run the line.
