Match officials for Fleetwood Town vs Liverpool

Kevin Friend has been appointed as the referee for Wednesday’s pre-season friendly between Fleetwood Town and Liverpool at Highbury Stadium.

The 45-year-old Bristol-native, who officiated 31 fixtures throughout the Premier League and Football League last season, brandished 100 yellow cards, along with six red ones.

Mr Friend last took charge of Liverpool back in December, when Christian Benteke’s solitary strike earned Jurgen Klopp’s Reds’ all three-points against Sam Allardyce’s Sunderland at the Stadium of Light.

Friend’s last fixture he officiated was Watford’s 2-2 draw with Sunderland at Vicarage Road on Sunday 15th May, the final top-flight game of the season.

Friend has never refereed FTFC in a competitive fixture, ahead of the friendly.

James Mainwaring and Simeon Lucas will be the fourth officials on the Fylde Coast, while Wade Smith is the fourth official.
