The Cod Army lost 2-1 at Valley Parade this afternoon

Steven Pressley gave his assessment of this afternoon’s defeat to Bradford City at Valley Parade to the Club’s media team.

Town went ahead through Jamille Matt’s second half header, but James Hanson replied before Steven Davies netted a late winer.

Pressley said: “We should be not losing that game, it is as simple as that. We put so much into the game that we can’t lose it in the manner that we did.

“I spoke about a couple of things before coming here, our mentality and doing the basics of the game well. When we go 1-0 up away from home we need to have the mentality to see the game out.

“The second thing is the basics of the game when conceding the two goals. Our defence go too deep on their goalkeepers kicks and we paid the price.

“It’s disappointing because on a whole there were many positives to take away from our play and we handled the conditions extremely well.

“We have to win these games, there is no doubt about it, we had to win today’s game. I said to the players after the game that we cannot continue to play in the manner that we do and not win.

“The players attitude is terrific but two moments of lack of concentration and a mentality not to see the game out cost us. We have to ensure we change that.”
