Defender joins the Cod Army from Leicester City

Defender Joe Davis has today signed a permanent deal with Fleetwood Town from Barclays Premier League outfit Leicester City for an undisclosed fee.

Davis has spent the past three months on loan with the Cod Army from the Foxes, and has impressed in central defence.

He has made 14 appearances in all competitions for Steven Pressley’s side so far this term, and will look to continue his run in the Town side over the coming weeks.

Davis becomes the second signing of the transfer window for Town, after it was announced last week that David Henen had extended his loan deal from Everton until the end of the season.

Pressley said: “I’m really pleased with the signing. He’s really impressed me since coming to the Club as his attitude and levels of professionalism are great.

“It’s brought a degree of continuity to us as well because Joe has integrated really well within the group. It makes for an easy transition for him.”

Davis added: “I’m delighted that it’s all been done now and I can concentrate on my football. I’m looking forward to my time here and I just want to do well.

“I stated from the start that I’d be really interested in staying with the Club, and I’m just over the moon to be here now.”
