Town will move out of the relegation zone with a winSteven Pressley stated that Sunday’s game against Shrewsbury Town is the type of fixture his side have to win if they are to move away from the relegation places.
Town are just a point and a place behind this weekend’s opponents in 21st position, and know victory would move them out of the bottom four.
After Thursday night’s JPT disappointment to Barnsley on penalties, attention now turns back to league football and Pressley is demanding a response from his players.
He said: “Winning games of football is an important habit. We need to direct the hurt from Tuesday night into a positive performance when we play Shrewsbury.
“We’ve got to ensure that we win. Our home form has been very good but we have to make sure that we take care of business.
“These are the sort of games that we have to get results from if we are to retain our Sky Bet League One status this season.
“It’s going to be very much recovery for the lads between now and Sunday. We’re quite thin on the ground and haven’t got the opportunity to rotate things.
“We’re going to have to ask the same players to go again really, and hopefully we can get them all ready for that.
“I’m expecting Shrewsbury to come here and have a right go because they like ourselves need to win the game.
“It’s going to make for a very interesting battle, but like I’ve said we have to ensure that we come out of it on top.”
