We are pleased to announce a member of our Academy has been offered a scholarship with the club, a first for Fleetwood Town at Category Three level.

greement after impressing for the club’s Academy so far this season and Owen Mason, 14, has signed an ais the first player to be offered a Scholarship by our new youth development system, which gained Category Three status in the summer.

At present 104 young players are registered to the club, ranging from the ages of eight to 21, based at our £9m Poolfoot Farm training complex.

And Academy Director Stuart Murdoch is delighted to see the progress being made.

“We are pleased to see the system is already producing players which we think have what it takes to be a success as a scholar at Fleetwood Town.

“Owen is a young player who will make the first step on the footballing ladder when he turns 16, but he obviously has a long way to go, as with all players at that age.

“He’s done well for us this season, scoring goals across a number of different age groups, and we are delighted to have entered an agreement for him to sign as a scholar.

“With plenty of hard work we hopefully can see him develop in the coming years.”
