Head Coach relishing the clash with his former club

Uwe Rosler is relishing Wednesday’s EFL Cup clash with Leeds United, insisting the pressure is off his players.

It’s the Fleetwood Town Head Coach’s first game in charge at Highbury and ironically comes against his former club, kick-off 7:45pm, and it’s one he’s very much looking forward to.

"I have to say, it seems like destiny” said Rosler on the draw.

"I'm very much looking forward to seeing good friends. Staff, players and administration, and fans who have been very good to me. I'm very much looking forward to it.”

A decent crowd is expected for the first round clash, with the Championship club already selling out their allocation for the evening.

And the Head Coach feels the pressure is off his side going into the game.

He said: "For us it is great, there is no pressure on us. The pressure on us is only to perform, the pressure on us is only to give it our best shot, the pressure on us is only to be positive in our approach.

"In terms of result, there is no pressure, it is purely on Leeds United and after their 3-0 defeat, I think they are desperate to win that game and that hopefully gives us chances.

“We will compete against a top club and it's fantastic for our players to measure themselves against a Championship team with Premier League quality.

"I expect them, this season, to challenge and I think that they quality of players that they got in, I think they have a great chance."
