Midfielder wants to put right the Scunthorpe result against Oxford

Midfielder Eggert Jonsson is ready for Fleetwood Town’s midweek clash against newly-promoted side Oxford United.

And Jonsson is happy about having another game so soon as the side want to forget about the 2-2 draw against Scunthorpe United game on Saturday.

“I think we’ll try to get a good result, you know, we are undefeated in the two games in the league,” said the midfielder.

“We are disappointed after Saturday losing a two goal lead, after being two goals up, we are disappointed with that.

“It is good to have a game so quick to try and put that right.”

The Iceland international doesn’t think that his goal is significant to his form as he thinks that the side's result goes ahead of anything else.

“It doesn’t really matter who scores the goals, all that really matters is that you want the team to do well,” said Jonsson.

“It was good to get a goal but at the end of the day, it doesn’t really matter.

“You get the three points and that’s all that matters.”

Jonsson also believes that, even though Town have played so may games in such a short time, if the players look after themselves off the pitch, the games will take care of themselves.

“When you are away from it, you have to eat right, you have to recover pretty quickly and prepare yourself for the next game.

“If you manage to do all of that properly, the game usually takes care of itself because once you’re out there, all you want to do is play football.

“As long as your mind is set on that, it isn’t that big of a problem.

“They have played a lot of games as well so it is the same for both teams.”
