Defender felt the performance was good in the Scunthorpe draw

Defender Amari’i Bell was happy with Fleetwood Town’s performance against Scunthorpe United but was left disappointed after only earning a draw.

The defender revealed that the dressing room are not disappointed with the point as they feel that they played well enough to win.

“We are still being optimistic, and what not, because we didn’t lose, we got a point out of it,” said the left-back.

“We had a two goal lead and we let them back into the game so I think we have dropped two points there.

“We should have stayed strong, done what we do well and kept them out the game.”

“But we know we should have gotten more but a point is better than nothing.

Bell admitted that the two goals that the side conceded were avoidable and the side should have picked up all three points.

“The first goal, we lost the first header and we could have avoided that,” said the defender.

“The second goal, we know the striker likes the common side and would try and get a shot so that could have easily been avoided as well.”

Even before kick-off and after playing 120 minutes on Wednesday night, Bell said that the side wouldn’t have settled for a point today and that he, himself, is slightly disappointed with only a point.

“No, not really because we want to win every game, that’s our aim,” said Bell.

“As I said, it is disappointing to draw after we got the lead.”
