Young Cod Army beat Tranmere 1-0 last night

Youth team manager Nathan Rooney believes the last four days have been a good learning curve for his youngsters following last night’s win over Tranmere.

Rooney was much happier with the performance of his side at Prenton Park, as Dan Mooney’s wonder strike proved the difference.

Mooney picked the ball up in midfield and unleashed a 25 yard rocket which flew into the top corner to earn his team to the points.

Rooney said: “I am proud of every single player as they have proven that they can meet all of my expectations on and off the ball.”

The youth team are back in action next on Saturday morning when they host Tranmere once again at Poolfoot Farm at 11am.
