Community Trust coach raised a £1000 in total

Community Trust coach Chris Morton ran the tramline from Starr Gate to Fleetwood Ferry on Sunday afternoon to raise funds for his Fleetwood Town Juniors Anchors girls under 11 side.

Chris raised a £1000 for his team to help towards the cost of equipment and clothing, and also shaved his head after reaching an initial target of £400.

He told the Club’s website: “The run was good and I did it in just over two hours. I set a time limit of about three and a half so I surprised myself in many ways.

“I kept being met along the way by the girls and their parents some of which who ran alongside me, so it was a really good day.

“The weather was really nice as I was expecting it to be wet and windy, and I think we raised near enough a £1000 which is about £600 more than I expected.

“Quite a few of the girls have just joined our team so we’re going to try and think a few things to do for them such as taking them to some exciting events or some team bonding sessions.

“They’re already telling me they want Fleetwood Town hoodies so we’ll probably look at ordering some of those for them as well.”
