Fleetwood Town announced the signing of experienced central defender Richard Wood from Rotherham United earlier today.

Below are 10 facts to help you get to know the Cod Army’s latest arrival as he joined on a month loan deal from the Millers.

- Wood is a Yorkshireman who hails from Ossett and was born on 5th July 1985

- He spent his youth career at Sheffield Wednesday

- He netted on his senior debut for the Owls against Burnley

- In November 2009, Wood signed a loan deal with Coventry City until January 2010

- His move to the Sky Blues was made permanent in early 2010 as he signed a three year deal

- After leaving Coventry he penned a deal with Charlton Athletic in 2013

- He spent only a season with the Addicks before joining Rotherham United

- Wood started for the Millers in their Capital One Cup game against Town last season

- In February of this year, he joined Crawley Town on a loan deal

- During his time in Sussex, he made 10 appearances and scored three goals
