Cod Army recorded an impressive win
Fleetwood Town’s youth side picked up a well-earned victory against a strong Bolton Wanderers outfit on Tuesday.Youth team boss Nathan Rooney complimented all 16 players who all played their part in a physically demanding fixture.
Rooney was pleased with his side’s enthusiasm from start to finish after a demanding double session on Monday.
He said: “As we know in football the forward players get a lot of the credit for the part they play in winning the games and putting the ball in the net, but I must put on the record the effort and endeavour which was shown throughout the back and into the midfield.
“The idea of these fixtures is to offer the lads a new challenge and to offer them as much playing time to allow them the opportunity to apply their training into game situations.
“A big thank you must go to Bolton Wanderers’ academy who agreed to the fixture at the very last minute.”
