Awards take place on Monday 16th November at Old TraffordFleetwood Town goalkeeper Chris Maxwell has been named as a finalist in the Player of the Year category at the MBNA North West Football Awards.
The Welsh shot stopper was in impressive form for the Cod Army last season, as he kept 14 clean sheets in their first season in the third tier.
The awards pay tribute to and recognise those who achieved footballing excellence both on and off the field in the 2014/15 season.
They will take place from 6.30pm on Monday 16th November at the Emirates Old Trafford, Lancashire County Cricket Club, Manchester.
Maxwell said: “It was a bit unexpected to be honest but I’m thrilled to be a finalist. I didn’t expect to be involved in the first place.
“To be acknowledged as one of the best players in the North West last season is a privilege really.
“It’d be a good achievement if I could win it. I like to win things and if I was to win anything I’d be happy.
“All my focus is on the weekend’s game now but to be nominated for something like this is going to increase my confidence and my performances too.”
