Duo visit Thornton Primary School

Midfielder Nick Haughton and goalkeeper Aleks Gogic visited Royles Brook Primary School in Thornton as the Club continued to build strong relationships in the area.

Fleetwood Town’s community friendly Poolfoot Farm training base is just a stone throw away from Royles Brook, as Haughton and Gogic took time out of their schedules to visit the primary school.

The pair, regularly involved in Steven Pressley’s matchday squad had the unusual tasks of playing Boccia.

For anyone that hasn’t heard of Boccia, is a precision ball sport, similar to bowls. Haughton and Gogic both had a great time with the primary school children as they took part in a new sport for everyone involved.

It was also goalkeeper Gogic’s first player appearance following his move to Fleetwood Town earlier this season.

Mike Lee, the Club’s Community Sport Co-ordinator said: “Both players had a great time interacting with the youngsters.

“It is important as a Club that we continue to communicate and reach out to the local community. We are consistently delivering sessions in the Thornton area and the visit to Royles Brook was a positive for all involved.

“It was a slightly different type of activity they were involved in but everyone was smiling and laughing which is the most important thing.”
